What 40 years of experience have taught me -
and can teach you too
Trained and qualified in Graphic Design with a specialism in Typography at Stafford in the late 1980's, I was part of a tuition programme widely regarded as one of the UK's best. Limited in student intake, Stafford offered rare, hands-on typographic training rooted in letterpress precision; ahead of its time in emerging digital tools.
Gaining a tangible understanding of space, legibility and hierarchy designing before desktop publishing became the norm meant that every decision had to be intentional. There was no 'undo' or endless tweeking. Layouts were planned and measured, executed with precision.
It's that discipline that has trained me to think clearly, work efficiently and design with purpose - skills that still shape my approach, even in today's fast digital workflow. It's just much faster now!
Moving forward through the decades I've excelled in becoming a commercially-minded creative with a hybrid cross-channel knowledge, both online and offline: packaging, printed literature, point of sale material through to social media and website design.
Now, through my workshops and mentoring, I am helping business owners to uncover the voice behind their brand and to teach you how to bring it to life through good design.
